1. Who we are
Actrl is provided by TypeD Games (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to the Actrl Android application.
2. Information processed on your device
Actrl processes the following information locally to provide its core features:
- Names, addresses, categories, and connection status of Bluetooth devices already paired with your phone.
- The name and Bluetooth address of the last computer selected in Actrl, so the app can reconnect to the correct device.
- Local preferences and counters, such as whether setup is complete and whether the Google Play review flow has already been requested.
- Temporary diagnostic events from the current app process, such as connection state, app version, Android version, and device model.
Bluetooth information and local preferences remain on your device unless you clear Actrl’s app data or uninstall the app. Temporary diagnostics are held in memory only for the current app process.
3. Permissions
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth: used to show paired devices, make the phone temporarily discoverable when you choose to add a computer, connect as a Bluetooth HID media remote, and maintain that connection.
- Notifications: optional; used to show connection status while Actrl maintains an active connection in the background.
- Foreground service: used to maintain an active Bluetooth connection in a way that is visible to you.
4. Information you choose to send
If you choose “Email support,” your email app prepares a message to typedgames@gmail.com. It may include your description of the problem and session diagnostics such as app version, Android version, device manufacturer/model, and connection events. Bluetooth addresses are partially masked before export. You can review, edit, or cancel the email before sending it.
If you send an email, we receive your email address and the contents you choose to provide. We use them only to respond and troubleshoot, and retain them only as long as reasonably necessary for support and legal obligations.
5. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
Actrl uses Google Firebase to understand general app usage and improve reliability. Firebase may automatically process:
- App activity, app version, device and operating-system information, approximate region, and app-instance identifiers for Firebase Analytics.
- Crash stack traces, relevant app state, device metadata, crash timestamps, and installation identifiers for Firebase Crashlytics.
We currently do not send Bluetooth device names, Bluetooth addresses, or Actrl’s in-memory diagnostic log to Firebase. Firebase data is processed by Google under the Firebase Privacy and Security terms and Google Privacy Policy.
6. Google Play services
Actrl may request Google Play’s native in-app review flow after sufficient use. Ratings, review text, and your Google Play account relationship are handled by Google Play; Actrl is not told whether you submitted a rating. Google Play processes this information under the Google Privacy Policy.
7. How we use and share information
We use information to provide Bluetooth remote functionality, remember your selected computer, maintain and improve the app, diagnose crashes, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers such as Google/Firebase as described above, or disclosed when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
8. Your choices
- You can deny optional notification permission; Bluetooth remote control can still work while the app is open, but background visibility may be limited.
- You can revoke permissions or clear Actrl’s local data in Android Settings.
- You can uninstall Actrl to stop future collection by the installed app.
- You can choose not to send a support email or remove any prepared diagnostic text before sending.

9. Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Locally stored information remains until you clear app data or uninstall Actrl. Third-party retention is governed by the applicable provider’s policies; Firebase publishes details in its privacy documentation.
10. Children
Actrl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Actrl changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are posted.
